Venice, Italy, Villa Wedding | Chris+Alessia
Chris and Alessia’s wedding just outside Venice, Italy, is not one I think I’ll ever forget. It started when, about three weeks before the wedding, Chris and Alessia’s original wedding photographer couldn’t make it, which led them to finding us. Getting the call from Alessia about possibly coming to Italy to shoot their wedding with three (!!) weeks notice was probably one of the highlights of our year, and about three weeks later we were on a plane headed to Venice, Italy. Chris and Alessia got married just outside of Venice in the city where they first met and got to know each other surrounded by their friends and family. They got ready at Hotel Villa Tacchi, had their ceremony at a local catholic church, and then came back to Hotel Villa Tacchi for their reception.
Alessia was telling me at the reception how she had planned most of the wedding from where she was living in Texas and when she told the planner at the Villa they wanted to spend an hour on dinner the planner was appalled, haha! And then insisted the dinner part of the reception lasted at least two hours. Something I thought was really special was instead of their guests grabbing the favors themselves, as Chris and Alessia visited each table they personally handed out the guest favors. I thought it was a really sweet way to personally greet and make each guest feel special! When it came time for dancing, I think every single guest was on the dance floor at one point, from the youngest to the oldest! Chris and Alessia and their friends+family were so warm and welcoming and it made the experience all the more memorable.
